The building still stands today in simplistic form, preserved with care and filled with echoes of early promise. Inside, students once sat on repurposed orange crates, marked with local grove labels. A teacher stood before them with chalk in hand and a flag nearby, quiet symbols of a nation healing and growing. Those years laid the foundation for the values Windermere holds dear today: resilience, responsibility, and a sense of pride in place.
This July, Windermere celebrates an incredible milestone for our town, its 100th Fourth of July. Known for its rich traditions, strong sense of community, and love of home. Generations of families have gathered here to watch fireworks shimmer over the lakes, wave flags along tree-lined streets, and come together in celebration of our country. It’s a town that values history, heart, and the moments that make a house feel like home, in a town where tradition still lives and neighbors still know each other by name.
Over the last hundred years, Windermere has evolved from a quiet lakeside village into one of Central Florida’s most sought-after communities. Home styles have changed from wood-frame cottages to grand estates, the feeling has not. The charm remains. The quiet mornings. The mossy oaks & gentle wind rustle through the trees.
