Business Profile | By Jocklyn Mundy | Photos by Michael Kleinfelt, Windermere Photography
We are so grateful and would like to celebrate our photographer, Mike Kleinfelt, whose extraordinary talent and love for this community have made every issue of Neighbors of Windermere shine. For the past two years, Mike’s incredible photography has brought our feature family stories to life, capturing not just beautiful images but the warmth and connection that define our neighborhoods.
Nat and I are continually thankful for Mike’s dedication to Windermere and its people. His professionalism, kindness, and artistic eye have been such a blessing to our publication. His photographs tell the stories of our neighbors with authenticity and heart.
When he’s not behind the camera, Mike serves full-time in law enforcement, where he’s built a remarkable career in Central Florida. His service has been recognized statewide, earning him the title of 2010 Florida Sheriff’s Association Deputy Sheriff of the Year and a nomination for the Florida Attorney General’s Award. Over the years, he has served in a variety of critical roles, from S.W.A.T. operator and FDLE/DEA Task Force investigator to Mounted Patrol Deputy, and Aviation Surveillance spotter. Mike has also collaborated with federal agencies, including Homeland Security, FEMA, and the Department of Defense, and has often been among the first responders during natural disasters and global emergencies.
In addition to his public service, Mike is a licensed commercial drone pilot, serving on the sheriff’s drone team and flying missions that merge his technical skill with his eye for precision. He also holds a Merchant Mariner Certification from the U.S. Coast Guard and is a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he was a member of both the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Tau Sigma Honors Society.
Photography is Mike’s creative outlet, his way to find balance and joy outside the high demands of law enforcement. Through his business, Windermere Photography, he captures everything from family portraits and weddings to real estate and sports, all with his signature artistry and attention to detail.
Mike’s wife, Erin, also grew up in Windermere and is usually right beside him during his photography sessions. Mike loves having her there, “She notices things I don’t, details that make the photos better.” Their family keeps them on the move with their son Maverick (8), Mike’s daughter Mikayla (17), and his son Hunter (15).
We’re proud to call Mike not just our photographer, but our friend. His passion, integrity, and devotion both to his profession and to this community remind us daily how blessed we are to have him as part of the Neighbors of Windermere family.
