From the beginning,
this was always
where the story
was leading.
Not simply
to forgiveness.
Not simply
to rescue
from judgment.
But to God Himself.
On the night
before the cross,
Jesus prayed
to His Father.
And in that prayer,
He described
the gift
He had come to give.
“And this is eternal life,
that they may know You,
the only true God,
and Jesus Christ
whom You have sent.”
(John 17:3)
Eternal life
is more than life
that never ends.
It is life
with the Father,
through His Son.
And it begins
now.
Through Christ,
the God
who once seemed distant
becomes
our Father.
Day by day,
we come
to know Him.
To trust Him.
To depend
upon Him.
And to discover,
again and again,
that He is faithful.
Life will still bring
joy and sorrows.
Questions
and tears.
There will be seasons
when the road
is difficult.
But those
who belong to Christ
never walk alone.
The Father
is with them.
And this life
does not end
when our earthly life ends.
One day
faith
will become sight.
The God
we now know
through Christ
will dwell
with His people
forever.
“Behold, the tabernacle of
God is with men,
and He will dwell with
them, and they shall be His
people.
God Himself will be with
them and be their God.
And God will wipe away every
tear from their eyes;
there shall be no more death,
nor sorrow, nor crying.
There shall be no more pain,
for the former things have
passed away.”
(Revelation 21:3-4)
This is the life
every human heart
has been longing for.
Not simply
a better life.
Not merely
a forgiven life.
Life
with the Father.
Now.
And forever.
