From the Desk of Chief Ogden | By Chief David A. Ogden
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on what nearly 40 years in law enforcement has taught me about this great nation.
I've witnessed people on their best and worst days. I've responded to tragedy, celebrated acts of heroism, and watched communities come together when they were needed most. Through it all, I have learned that America's greatest strength has never been found in its buildings, institutions, or even its government. It has always been found in its people.
Over the years, I have come to believe that the greatest gift you can ever give someone is your time. I have watched volunteers serve their communities, neighbors help neighbors, and ordinary citizens step forward during extraordinary circumstances. These moments remind me that service remains at the heart of who we are.
I have also learned that legacy is not something you leave for someone; legacy is what you leave in someone. Every act of kindness, every lesson shared, every life influenced becomes part of the future we are building together.
As we celebrate 250 years of freedom, may we continue investing our time in others, planting seeds of character, faith, service, and resilience. The next chapter of America's story will be written by the lives we touch today.

David A. Ogden
