My name is Dave Harp, and as the owner of Aqua Inferno, I'm here to guide you through the best practices for protecting your vehicle during these challenging months. As an expert in automobile and boat detailing and cleaning, I understand the unique challenges that vehicle owners face, especially in the springtime here in Windermere.

With the arrival of spring, vehicles are not only subjected to the usual wear and tear but also face other adversaries: love bugs, pollen, and the harsh tropical sun that come with the many benefits of living here. These elements can be as harsh on your vehicle's paint job and finish as Ultraviolet Rays can be to your skin.

LOVE BUGS: Love bugs, despite their innocent name, can cause severe damage to your vehicle's paint if not addressed promptly. Two flights of lovebugs occur each year. The first hatching occurs after rainfall in the spring and the second is timed to the fall rains. Flights extend over a period of 4 to 5 weeks, but individual adults live only 2-3 days. Mating takes place almost at once after emergence, hence their well-earned name. These insects become particularly active during the spring and can stick to your vehicle’s surface. In a very short time, the acidic body juice of love bugs can etch into the paint, leaving permanent damage.

The key to protecting your vehicle from love bugs is regular cleaning. At Aqua Inferno, we recommend a thorough wash at once after exposure and applying quality car wax or paint sealant to create a barrier between the bugs and your car or boats to remove these pests before they can cause harm.

POLLEN: Springtime also means an increase in pollen, which can cover your vehicle with a fine yellow dust. While pollen may seem harmless, it can actually scratch your vehicle's paint and, when mixed with rain, can etch into the clear coat. To combat pollen, frequent washing is essential. Additionally, waxing and sealing makes it easier to wash away the pollen without damaging the paint.

TROPICAL SUN RAYS: The intense UV rays from the tropical sun are particularly strong in our Windermere area. Prolonged exposure to these rays can fade and degrade your vehicle's paintjob over time. To protect against UV damage, it’s crucial to consistently apply a protectant wax or sealant. These products hold UV inhibitors that provide an added layer of protection, keeping your paint looking vibrant and new for longer.

At Aqua Inferno, we specialize in providing comprehensive detailing services that address these springtime challenges.

Our Services Include:

Regular Scheduled Washing: We use pH-neutral, automotive-specific soaps that safely remove love bugs, pollen, and other contaminants without stripping away protective coatings.

Protective Coatings: Applying high-quality waxes, sealants, or ceramic coatings that offer durable protection against love bugs, pollen, and UV damage. These coatings not only protect but also enhance the shine of your vehicle’s finish.

Interior Protection: Spring allergens can find their way inside your vehicle as well. We offer interior detailing services to keep your car’s interior clean and allergen-free, protecting your driving environment.

Custom Solutions: Understanding that each vehicle and its owner’s needs are unique, we provide personalized consultation to recommend the best protective measures for your specific situation.

Springtime in Windermere presents unique challenges to keep your vehicle’s appearance and structural integrity. At Aqua Inferno, we’re committed to providing the ability and services necessary to protect your investment from love bugs, pollen, and the damaging effects of tropical sun rays. Let us help you keep your car or boat in pristine condition this spring and beyond.
