Community Self Defense Training

Participants and instructors of the free community self-defense course at Windermere Town Hall

In August, the Windermere Rotary Club and the Windermere Police Department, in collaboration with volunteers from Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Clermont, hosted a free self-defense course at Windermere Town Hall. Windermere Police Chief Dave Ogden led the four-hour session, with expert instruction from Gracie Barra's owner, Thaddeus Baumann, and James Pagan (JP). Windermere Rotary member Cyndi Hulin, a karate black belt trained by Chief Ogden and fellow Rotarian Todd Bednarek, also volunteered.
