Tyler Price, an 18-year-old resident of Windermere, has achieved a rare milestone in the performing arts: acceptance into the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Drama program at The Juilliard School in New York City. Widely recognized as the top drama program in the world, Juilliard’s Drama Division reportedly maintains an acceptance rate of less than 1%.

Price’s journey to the world-renowned conservatory was the result of a multi-stage audition process consisting of thousands of applicants. After advancing through initial rounds, he was one of 50 applicants invited to the Juilliard campus for a rigorous four-day "callback weekend" workshop. Following the intensive evaluation, Price was selected as one of only 18 students to join the incoming class, which consists of 9 BFA students and 9 MFA students.

“We are extremely proud of Tyler’s unwavering commitment to this process and of him fulfilling his dream,” said his parents, David and Marisa Price. “We want to thank our supportive family, friends, and the local arts community for providing the experiences that allowed Tyler to further his passion.”

The Price family credits several Central Florida organizations for shaping Tyler’s craft, including Montverde Academy, Sarah-Lee Dobbs Studio, Orlando Family Stage and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Tyler also gained invaluable stage experience through Theatre South Playhouse, The Breakthrough Theatre Company, and Winter Park Playhouse.
