Scott and Anna McIntyre grew up in Windermere, and now they live in the close-knit community that helped raise them. From childhood, they shared the simple joys of small-town life and the beauty of their natural surroundings. For Scott and Anna, the essence of family life lies in the shared experiences and values of growing up in Windermere.
Scott’s parents, Hal and Linda McIntyre, moved to Windermere when Hal transferred as an executive from Disneyland in California to Disney World. Scott, his older sisters Jennifer and Missy, and his younger brother Ryan grew up in Windermere. Hal was very involved in some of the most iconic projects at Disney World, including Epcot and the Grand Floridian. Linda was the beloved school nurse at Windermere Elementary, where their children attended. Hal and Linda have retired now, and their life happily revolves around their eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Anna's family moved to Windermere from DC when she was 11. Her parents, Rogers and Christy Kirven, built their home on Down Woods Lane in 1987 when Christy fell in love with the Windermere trees and the small-town feel. Anna is the oldest of five siblings: Jane, Charlie, Jon, and Becca. In 1991, Christy’s parents, Ed and Jean Pela, also moved into Windermere Downs when Ed retired from Dupont Engineering. As their roots grew in the community, Jean, also known as Mimi, was affectionately referred to as “The Queen of Windermere Downs.” Ed was a brilliant, soft-spoken man who loved helping his grandchildren with their projects, from science projects to model airplanes and rockets.

This beautiful life they had built was not without heartache. In 2010, Christy passed away at home after a courageous journey with cancer. Christy was known for her faith and values, hosting a weekly Bible study. Her resilience in the face of challenges was a testimony and inspired admiration and respect from everyone around her. As a revered wife, mother, and friend, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and community.

Growing up in Windermere, Anna and Scott knew ‘of’ each other. Years later, as single parents, Scott’s sons, Alex and Avery, and daughter Emma, and Anna’s boys, Will and Ben, knew each other as well. Emma would at times babysit Will and Ben. But it wasn't until an encounter at a Family Christian School PTA meeting that Scott took the opportunity to approach Anna, the striking blonde who had caught his eye. As their relationship blossomed, so did the relationship of their children. Anna recalls, “We were blessed that our five children got along so well.” Among other values shared, Anna and Scott valued the security and stability of their children above everything.
When Scott and Anna were married in 2015, they embarked on a journey of blending families, a process that requires patience, understanding, and a deep commitment to fostering unity. Scott acknowledges, “Blending a family, particularly with older children, presents its unique challenges.”
Scott is a University of Florida graduate with a degree in Construction Management and a devoted Gator fan. He is currently the Head of Pre-Construction at Walker and Company in Winter Park. Anna has a successful career in real estate with Lakeside Realty in Downtown Windermere, where she has been the top agent for the last two years. Anna says, “I have always enjoyed decorating for my friends and family in each home I have lived in... now it is a privilege to help others find a home to do the same.”

Scott and Anna were living in Winter Garden when Scott’s friend since childhood, Kevin Sullivan, owner of Lakeside Realty, called Scott about a new listing in Windermere Downs. Anna recalls, “We weren’t looking to move, but we had always said we would love to find a home in Windermere Downs; it was not an opportunity we could pass on.” Coming full circle, Anna and Scott do not take their home or the community they love for granted. Although many things have changed since they grew up in Windermere, there is still a sense of familiarity and continuity. They recently finished a remodel of their home, modernizing the interior.
At Scott and Anna's home in the heart of Windermere Downs, drop-ins are always welcome. The only time you might want to consider not dropping by is if it's during a close Gator Football game. They have assumed the cherished roles of “Aunt and Uncle” to over twenty children in the neighborhood. Anna and Scott love exploring new places and try to plan a trip with a group of friends from the neighborhood at least once a year. These trips have become a highlight for everyone involved, creating unforgettable memories and strengthening the bonds within their close-knit community. This year, the group trip included Oktoberfest in Germany, diving into the festival's lively atmosphere and enjoying the local culture.
Scott and Anna’s daughter Emma and her husband Christopher Walker have blessed them with two cherished grandchildren Lane and Lawson. They love spending time with their family, especially their nieces and nephews. When they have the time they also enjoy heading south to their condominium near Boca Grande.
Scott and Anna are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Anna enjoys playing tennis and Scott is an avid golfer. Anna has volunteered with the Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, and the Women's Rescue Mission.
As their children have moved forward in their own productive lives, the McIntyre household remains a cornerstone of love, support, and togetherness for the community.
