For more than 27 years, Brenda Crenshaw has dedicated her life to shaping how students learn, think, and grow. What began as a calling has evolved into one of Central Florida’s most distinctive private educational programs: The Crenshaw Academy, a college-preparatory school serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Brenda’s journey into education began in the classroom, teaching high school before launching her own tutoring service. Then came a moment when she felt God urging her to do more, to create a school where learning held meaning and every child could thrive. “So I did,” she says, smiling at the memory. At The Crenshaw Academy, that philosophy is clear. By keeping class sizes small, teachers can eliminate busywork and focus on deeper learning, honoring the fact that every student learns differently. The result is an environment where students are academically challenged while personally supported.
Brenda’s favorite part of her day is simple but telling: greeting each student as they walk past her office every morning. “It sets the tone for the day,” she says. “Those moments remind me why I do what I do.”
Her greatest joy comes from seeing students mature into confident, capable young adults ready to make their mark on the world. “Watching that transformation, academically, socially, and personally, is what keeps me inspired.”
